bibliography for five scholarly articles
Currie, Cheryl L. “Animal Cruelty by Children Exposed to Domestic Violence.” Child Abuse and Neglect 30 (2006): 425-435. Print
In the article “Animal Cruelty by Children Exposed to Domestic Violence” by Cheryl L Curie, she determines whether if children exposed to domestic violence were significantly more likely to be cruel to animals than children exposed to violence. She supports her claim by using stats and comparing mothers that exposed their children to violence to mothers that did not expose their children to violence. Her purpose is to show mothers that they hold the key to stopping animal abuse by first starting and fixing their parent skills. The intended audience of this article is mothers who need to change.
Merz-Perez, Linda., and Heide, Kathleen M. “Animal cruelty: Pathway to Violence against People.” Altamira Press (2004)
In the book “Pathway to violence against People” by Linda Merz-Perez and Kathleen M. Heide, they tend to show that children are just like older men in prison that do the same thing when reach the age. They show their point by stating cases about children abusing animals. This is their main focus and their purpose is to show people that not everyone has to be cruel to animals, that they should be gentle animal lovers. The intended audience is people who have been abusing animals and need to stop.
Wax, Douglas E. “Enuresis, Fire Setting, and Animal Cruelty.” Child Psychiatry and Human Development 4.3 Spring 1974 152-156. Print
In the article “Enuresis, Fire Setting, and Animal Cruelty” by Douglas E. Wax, he tends to emphasize upon primary prevention efforts involving early identification and intervention with vulnerable children who run high risk of serious adolescent and adult delinquency. He supports his claim by having statistics and testing children that may have these problems. His purpose is to help out the children who may be having these problems throughout the United States. His intended audience is parents who allow this to happen to their children.
Gleyzer, Roman. “Animal Cruelty and Psychiatric Disorders.” Regular Article 30. November 2, 2002: 257-265. Print.
In the article “Animal Cruelty and Psychiatric Disorders” by Roman Gleyzer he tends to show that people who have antisocial personality disorders tend to abuse animals. He supports this by having stats throughout experiment. His purpose is to show that not all kids should be abusing animals just because they are having issues. His intended audience is mothers who need to make sure that their kids do not abuse animals.
United Poultry Concerns. “Chickens Deserve Compassionate Care.” All-Creatures.org. Nov. 1, 2011

introduction
What percent of the United States are animal lovers? There have been many incidents were animals are used to fight in order to get money. How human like is that? What people do not understand is that animals are living creatures as well and have feelings just like humans do. Where does the thought come from to be cruel to animals? I am a high believer of seeing is doing. This means that not just any random person is going to do something just to do it, chances are people are getting exposed to abusing animals from their parents or even friends. As time goes by, this gets passed on from generation to generation. I tend to prove that animal cruelty is a problem by using logos, pathos, ethos.
Animal Cruelty
What percent of the United States are animal lovers? There have been many incidents were animals are used to fight in order to get money. How human like is that? What people do not understand is that animals are living creatures as well and have feelings just like humans do. Where does the thought come from to be cruelty to animals? I am a high believer of seeing is doing. This means that not just any random person is going to do something just to do it, chances are people are getting exposed to abusing animals from their parents or even friends. As time goes by, this gets passed on from generation to generation.
Abusing animals is something that younger children or adolescence tend to do. In doing this, many of their actions lead them into committing crimes when reaching the adult stage of their lives. Two thirds of the people reported the animal cruelty is a way to make the time go faster by just having fun with it. Where one fifth of the people do it out of anger, aggression, or even imitation. This greatly affects people such as real animal lovers, veterinarians (people who went to school for a long period of time just to help out animals that have been in these situations), and finally, it affects the animal itself. There have been people who have tried to prevent the entire animal abuse that has been going on which happens to be the government. The government has made laws in order to protect the animals being abused, but they are not strictly enforced like they should be. The reason for this is because if they were then no animal would get being tortured at this time. If the problem is not stopped in the future then the animal abuse that people are doing will get passed down from generation to generation and will continue to happen until someone steps up and fights against the animal cruelty!
In my eyes, someone should go out and do something about all of the animal abuse that is going on not only in the United States but also other countries all over the world. The reason I believe this is because what if some people forced people to fight one another just for the fun of it. If people threatened to kill someone just to get the kicks out of them fighting just for fun. It is the same concept with humans as it is with animals. This does not just go for the fighting, it is also considered cruelty if the owner does not feed the animal they are supposed to be taking care of. Abusing an animal is a crime that people are meant to get punished for. The bad thing is that animals cannot even defend themselves. So how cruel is that? At least with humans, if they were getting abused they have the chance to go tell the police or even defend themselves where as the animal cannot go to an animal cop to help them from getting abused. That is a totally unfair situation where many animals caretakers should be considering before they do something that might sent them to jail or even prison.
