plagiarims and sampling

the radio station that was aired talked about a term called sampling meaning that people take bits and pieces of songs in order to make their music. an example that they gave was the beat. some artist took the beat of one song and put it with another beat from another song to for their song. a topic that came up big was if sampling is illegal. many believe that it shoudnt and is not illegal. Many also belive that artist should be punished and sued for stealing other artists music. it was said that the artist arent the ones that get the credit for the music, the companies that are associated with the artist get all the credit. In the article, it is stated that every year more and more students are plagiaring. there are so many topics online that any student can pick anything and use it for a report or paper that they are writing. whatever is available online is easy access to students for help. many students do cite their references which is the way to not be accused of plagiarism, where others are getting more and more lazy and dont take the extra step in citing. this is a major problem in present times. many fear that plagiarism is never going to end and will continue to grow.
