In the Book "Shark attacks: Terrifying True Accounts of Shark Attacks Worldwide" by Alex MacCormick, he states that shark attacks are usually occurring no more than five feet into the water which forces him to ask the question, how safe is it to be in shallow waters? Is it safer to surf or bath in the ocean waters. He gives many incidents of sharks attacking humans if its in shallow waters to deep waters. he tries to show the reader that sometimes being in the ocean, no matter how deep it may be, it might not be safe. the intended audience are readers who are learning about the ocean waters who want to go swim or surf.
